Where the profits go from a gallon of gas:

Gas Stations – Takes in about 7 to 10 cents a gallon.
Taxes – Government gets about 40 cents a gallon.
Transportation – Moving gas from refineries to stations about 23 to 26 cents a gallon.
Refineries – About 24 cents a gallon goes to refineries.
