Quoting Economist Gary Shilling: “52.6% of the nation now receives significant income from government programs”. This is up from 49% in 2000 and up from 28% in 1950. There are now more people that are fully invested in the government as beneficiaries instead of those bearing the burden. I thought that I would never see our population dwindle from the cause for fiscal discipline and the containment of government. But Obama plans to only take from the top. Let’s see……….
The promise of any spending cuts is a fairy tale. Fiscal conservatism is sinking fast. Too many people are on the take and like it that way. That is why Obama may be your next President.

Over the next 25 years, more and more baby boomers will be retiring and the number will reach 75 million! Our system of taxes will be financially challenged to keep up with Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, not to mention all the other programs out there. This will constitute a substantial growth pattern that the Federal Government will be hard pressed to meet.
Entitlements are growing while there is growth in the non-taxpaying population. It is time to rein in on all these entitlement programs and to not enact more spending by the government. Congress will have many challenges ahead in trying to reform these programs, not to mention that the number of Americans who pay nothing is increasing by the day. But do you hear much reform from the candidates?
How does Congress rein in the entitlements in this rapidly growing environment of dependency programs? This will be their challenge.

The above figures tells the tale of each plan. These are the published across the board cuts and the figures with a + sign are increases. The real story here is not to let just tax cuts or increases be your only guide to choosing the next President. There is so much more at stake for the long haul. Such as: the choosing of new Supreme Court Justices, our long term financial crisis and our position in the world pertaining to immigration and security. This election is important. Show up and vote!

Well, the government doesn’t think so! What do we despise about Washington? Taxes and the many untruths.
Don’t worry about tax increases! They tell you they are not going to tax your family. But the real truth is they are going to tax business. So unless you buy something from a business, then it will not affect you. Things like clothes, food, gas. Or it will not affect you unless you are getting a paycheck from a business. Oh, many of you are getting that too. This is their idea of tax reform.
Barack Obama and Senator Biden voted for the largest tax increases in U.S. history. Barack had 94 opportunities to side on the people’s side and 94 times he voted to raise taxes. But they will also tell you that John McCain voted 477 times to raise taxes. Not true. His was a budget procedural vote.
You have to be smarter than a fifth grader to read between the lines. They are not going to make it easy on you!

We have watched one bailout after another over the years. Not even the experts seem to know the extent of the damage to our infrastructure. But one thing is for sure, I believe we do face tough economic times and challenges and Congress should act, but not until the government fine tunes the bill and accepts regulations to ensure this will not happen again in the future. The main problem with the current bill is that it did not even exist two days ago and there have not been any hearings or scrutinies needed to change regulations, add incentives and lower taxes. At $700 billion dollars, we cannot afford to be wrong.

In elections past, there have been a few great campaign slogans. Here are a few we will share with you:
Grover Cleveland and James Blaine really got into the negative slogans in the 1884 election.
Cleveland’s slogan – “Blaine, Blaine, James G. Blaine, The Continental Liar From The State of Maine!” (This refers to Blaine’s unethical dealings with the Railroad.)
Blaine’s slogan – “Ma, Ma, Where’s My Pa, Gone To The White House, Ha, Ha, Ha” (This refers to the out-of-wedlock child that Cleveland supposedly had fathered.) That’s cold!
The most famous that we have all heard: “Tippecanoe and Tyler Too!” (The 1840 slogan for William Henry Harrison, the hero of the battle at Tippecanoe and for his Vice Presidential candidate, William Tyler.)
